Ski and snowboard areas that are on National Forest Service land are listed HERE . There are 122 ski/snowboard areas on Forest Service land. There also is a complete list of the entire National Forest System . We wish to acknowledge the U.S. Forest Service for its support of Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

We are working together to create public awareness for snow sports and winter activity outdoors.


The President's Council on FItness, Sports and Nutrition also is a Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month (LSSM) partner.

Children and adults can take the President's Challenge and earn a

Presidential Active Lifestyle Awards (PALA)

with snow sports. Alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing all are listed activities. Take the Challenge this winter.


Recreation.gov is a travel planning platform that features a variety of public land locations and activities across federal lands and waters throughout the U.S.A.

There are more than 90,000 reservable public land sites and activities onRecreation.gov . They range from ski and snowboard options to many other recreational activities. Users can create a profile to begin using the interactive map to search, save and route locations
